Citizens for a Better City, a nonpartisan political action organization which supports the campaigns of qualified school board and city council candidates in Falls Church City, is celebrating its fiftieth (50!) anniversary of community activism.
The CBC will hold its Annual Meeting and Dinner on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Falls Church Community Center. The meeting will start at 5:00 pm, which will be followed by cocktails, dinner, recognitions and awards.
The event is open to the public, with tickets to be sold at the door ($20 adult and $6 for children).
The CBC annual dinner is a milestone event on our city political calender, with incumbent CBC-endorsed candidates and political newcomers given the opportunity to announce their intention to seek endorsement of the organization in the next city elections. All seven school board members were endorsed by the CBC and six of the seven city council candidates were endorsed. It is casual community event ... and I understand the food will be particularly good this year. Well worth the $20 price tag.
