They are doing it now just to tease me.
The same small group of "just friends" and "concerned citizens" who desperately want to "save our city" by "watching something."
Web sites registered under hidden names. Unattributed ads. Anonymous flyers. Secret blogs with sinister titles, infrequent posts, and desperate attempts to hide online footprints.
I see you out there.
But behind all the cloak and dagger it is the same sad story. Just the usual suspects of old haters. No to mixed use development. No to the city center. No to diversity. No to process and planning. No to progress. No to fully funding schools. No to affordable workforce housing. No to dirty little brown kids in our community who don't understand "our values."
AFFORDABLE WORKFORCE HOUSING CAN STILL BE STOPPED IF ONLY .... blah, blah, blah.
Litigate. Investigate. Propagate the hate.
I swear I have a foot high stack of material they spread around. There is just not time enough in the day.
Below is the latest material being distributed anonymously (redacted to limit promotion). A blog which anonymously lit drops its unsigned posts. Sad. The words they use. The punctuation. The turns of phrases. The made up statistics. The "poor misunderstood citizens just trying to tell the real truth" tactics.
It is the same group of haters that hang around to hang around. They refuse to participate. Block every initiative they did not begin. Offer no solutions to the underlying issues. What they cannot do at the ballot box they try to accomplish in the dark of night as far from public discussion on the merits as possible.
Polluting our community and doing a tremendous disservice to intelligent and serious community discussion about important public issues.
